These guidelines are provided to reduce confusion about the rental process. Miss-priced TextbooksBookRenter.co.nz shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit/debit card charged for products listed at an incorrect price, or containing any other incorrect information. If your credit/debit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is canceled, BookRenter.co.nz shall issue a credit to your credit/debit card account for the amount of the charge. AvailabilityEven though the majority of textbooks listed on BookRenter.co.nz are available for rent we can not guarantee their availability. You will be advised within 3 days if the books are not available and refunded appropriately. Renting TextbooksWhen you rent a textbook from BookRenter.co.nz your credit/debit card will be charged for the rental price, plus ay add-ons chosen, less any applicable discounts. Rental PricesPrices of rentals are not guaranteed until you check out and submit your credit/debit card information to complete your transaction. Returning TextbooksPlease mail your textbooks back befor the last day of your rental period. All items that originally came with the book, such as, CDs, DVDs, access codes, inserts, workbooks, study guides, etc must be returned with the textbook. Post your textbooks back to BookRenter.co.nz via NZ Post using the below FreePost address: Time FrameThe rental period for all books starts on the 20th day of January and ends on the 20th day of December of each year. Books can be rented for a shorter period however no further discount apply. If the book is not returned to BookRenter.co.nz by the 20th of December of the year it is rented, we assume you are keeping your textbook and we will charge you accordingly. Please note textbooks offered for Summer School courses will have a rental period beginning the day the book is posted to you and last for a period of 6 months Textbooks Not ReturnedIf your textbook is not returned by the end of your rental period and you have not got in contact with us to explain why, it will be deemed "late", and you will be charged a fee which is used to cover the cost of replacing the textbook. This fee is equal to the recommended retail price of the book (as listed on BookRenter.co.nz) as if it were brand new, minus your rental costs. Once you textbook is late, you opt out of the rental agreement and the textbook becomes your property. If you have not returned the textbook by the due date and we are unable to charge your credit/debit card, it is your responsibility to pay the fee immediately. You will be notified via email if your credit/debit card was declined and have 15 days to pay this fee before your account is turned over to a third-party collection agency. All accounts sent to collections are subject to an additional collection fee. Purchasing Your RentalIf you like your textbook, we encourage you to buy it. To do so please email BookRenter.co.nz advising accordingly. This purchase price is equal to the recommended retail price of the textbook (as listed on BookRenter.co.nz) as if it were brand new, minus your rental costs. By purchasing the textbook, you opt out of the rental agreement and the textbook becomes your property. PropertyDuring your textbook rental period, all textbooks remain the full property of BookRenter.co.nz. Your acceptance of the textbook and paying rental prices entitles you to use the property of BookRenter.co.nz for a limited amount of time and binds you to these Terms and Conditions. At the end of the textbook rental period, you exit out of these terms and conditions and lose all rights to the textbook. Lost TextbooksIf your rented textbook is lost or stolen, you are responsible for the textbook. If you do not return the textbook at the end of your rental period, your credit/debit card will be charged to replace the textbook as per our these terms. Damaged BooksBooks are required to be kept in good condition. If a book arrives to you damaged, you need to notify BookRenter.co.nz within 3 days from the date of delivery. All textbooks need to be returned without damage. This is defined as the cover / binding having no noticeable damage, all pages being intact (no tears or stains present) and no writing / highlighting / underlining of the textbook. Textbook Insurance can be purchased for an extra $5 per rental and this allows for wear and tear and some highlighting / underlining. If a textbook is returned to us as damaged condition and rendered unusable, it will remain the property of BookRenter.co.nz and you will be charged a fee depending on the damage. If the textbook is damaged or there is writing / highlighting / underlining throughout the textbook, however it is still in a suitable condition to be re-rented to another customer, you will be charged $10.00. If the textbook cannot be re-rented to another customer the fee will be equal to the recommended retail price of the book (as listed on BookRenter.co.nz) as if it were brand new, minus your rental costs. Such a situation would be when the cover/binding is noticeably damaged or missing, pages are stained, torn, missing, illegible, or otherwise warped. Any other significant damage may also renders the book unusable to rent to another customer. If supplementary materials such as CDs, workbooks, study guides, etc are included with your book, they must be returned with your textbook. Intellectual PropertyAll rented items are protected by applicable Copyrights. Materials should not be reproduced or used without express written permission from BookRenter.co.nz or any of its suppliers. BookRenter.co.nz reserves the right to terminate your account and rental if we, in our sole and absolute discretion, believe that you are in violation of these terms. Such violations include copying, scanning, photocopying, or reproducing in anyway CDs or written publications rented to you. BookRenter.co.nz does not promote, foster or condone the copying of CDs or any written publications nor does it condone any other infringing activities. The use of CDs and publications rented to you is solely for your personal and non-commercial use. Payment InformationThe hirer will be notified via email of an invalid credit/debit card and given the opportunity to pay your outstanding dues. BookRenter.co.nz is not responsible for causing or refunding overdraft or other penalty fees a customer may receive. BookRenter.co.nz reserves the right to use a collection agency and any other means necessary to recover any payments due. All accounts sent to collections are subject to an additional fee. Textbooks Not ReceivedIf your textbook is not delivered to you within five business days of your delivery estimate or you receive a textbook that you did not order, please inform BookRenter.co.nz immediately. If BookRenter.co.nz is not notified, we will be unable to send a replacement tetxbook or claim postal insurance. RefundsA refund is available if BookRenter.co.nz makes a mistake with your order (e.g. textbooks do not match your order or the textbooks have major damage). To receive a refund, please contact BookRenter.co.nz immediately. Requests for refunds due to missing supplements are not the result of a BookRenter.co.nz. Items are no longer eligible for a refund after ten days of receipt; in addition, if the textbook is returned to us damaged or not in its original condition (received condition), we will be unable to offer you a refund. Cancellations/ModificationsBecause BookRenter.co.nz tries to process and ship orders as quickly as possible, the majority of orders cannot be canceled or modified (textbooks usually cannot be added, and shipping addresses and methods cannot be changed, etc.) once placed. Please contact us immediately and we will see what we can do. Textbook ListsTextbook lists are compiled from requirements submitted by lecturers. Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of these lists, but lecturers may make decisions without informing us, resulting in textbooks being removed or changed. Similarly, while the editions given are accurate at the date lists were compiled, publishers may produce new editions which become available and replace the editions originally specified. BookRenter can accept no liability for any confusion or inconvenience caused by such changes and incorrect information on our website. ChangesBy placing an order with BookRenter.co.nz you consent to our terms and conditions. If we amend these terms and conditions, we will post any changes to this page so that you are always aware of the current terms and conditions. We suggest that you check this page on occasion to keep up with the most up to date policy. Governing LawYou agree that any claim relating to BookRenter.co.nz shall be governed by the laws of New Zealand. |
